| Accounts are just as important as any other aspect of a business, and can be crucial to its prosperity and even survival. In "doing the books" you will be at the very heart of the business, with your hands on the controls. You will be involved in the management of its assets and liabilities, its expenses and its profit margins. The more control you have over these, and the records and figurework on which they are based, the better you will be able to control your own business. |

It's hard to believe the classic Book-Keeping & Accounting For The Small Business: How To Keep The Books And Maintain Financial Control Over Your Business is now in its 7th revised, updated edition: its new incarnation and updated details will continue to appeal to modern readers, whether they be sole proprietors, partners, or limited corporations. Because this is written in the UK, some issues, such as VAT taxes, may not apply outside; but the basics of understanding wages, taxes, accounts, and double entry book-keeping are essential to any small business.

Didn't realize it was British.

| I didn't realize it when I bought it that it was British, completely my fault. Even so it was helpful to me, although some of it was completely useless for my needs and of course it didn't touch on some of the things I needed info on. But the basics are pretty much the same. |
